Arizona horseback riding is our specialty, come on out and treat yourself, and your family to a horseback riding vacation, that you have always dreamed of. Our ranch located on the site of the famous 1877 Gold Bar Gold Mine and once the home of F. X. O’Brien has been in the McCracken family for three generaations since the gold mining days that made it famous.
The Gold Bar Horseback rides along the Hassayampa River and the Bradshaw Mountain foothills are tailored specifically to fit our customers skill levels and desire for adventures. Rides range in length from from 1 hour, 1.5 hour, to 2 hours and up.
Depending on the time of year you chose to ride, we can ride early in the cool morning air during the summer months, or later in the day once the sun has warmed up the landscape for some breathtaking sunsets. All horseback riding trail rides are guided by our friendly, experienced ranch hands that will provide a quick horseback training session, help you get saddled up , then guide you through Willows, Cottonwoods, and desert plants, shrubs and prickly pear cactus.
Make sure you bring your digital camera to take pictures of the many signs of wildlife we will encounter on our rides. If you take one of our sunrise or sunset horseback rides, you may see deer, javelina, turkeys, owls, hawks, buzzards, bald eagles, bob cats, coyotes and an occassional mountain lion. Don’t worry, they usually hear us coming and you’ll have to be quick with a camera or you will miss them as they scurry off into the brush as we approach them on horseback.
